PCELM
=====
PCElm is an external electronic mailer program which is normally
entered from the DIS Session Manager.
PCElm has a friendly menu-driven interface, and is largely
self-explanatory. It contains a built-in text editor, support
for message address filtering, screen colour mapping and other
very useful features. PCElm prompt messages and error messages
are kept in a separate file, which you can edit into your own
language if required.
Before use, PCElm requires a startup file (~/spool/mail/pcelm.rc)
to specify certain initial parameter settings.
Also, PCElm requires that certain DOS environment variables be
set up before use (see the "DISview" file !ENVIRON.TXT).
In particular, it is essential that the HOME variable is set up
correctly, defined with a _DOS_ pathname, _not_ a SUBSTituted
drive name.
For example, PCElm will work properly if you define HOME as:
SET HOME=C:\DEMON\SPOOL\MAIL <<<<<<<< THIS WORKS
but will NOT work if you set HOME as:
SET HOME=N:\ <<<<<<<< THIS DOES N-O-T WORK
